Sunil Behari Mathur is a qualified Chartered Accountant. He retired from LIC in October 2004 as its Chairman.
Subsequently, the Government of India appointed him as the Administrator of the Specified Undertaking of the Unit Trust of India in December 2004, up to December 2007.
Mr. Mathur took over as Chairman of LIC at a time when the insurance sector had just opened up. Under his leadership, LIC successfully rose to the challenges of a competitive environment by enhancing product offerings. He joined LIC in 1967 as a Direct Recruit Officer and rose to the rank of Chairman. He held various positions in LIC including Senior Divisional Manager of Gwalior Division, Chief of Corporate Planning, General Manager of LIC (International) E.C., Zonal Manager in-charge of Western Zone and Executive Director.
Mr. Mathur is a Director on the Boards of UltraTech Cement Limited, Thomas Cook (India) Limited and DCM Shriram Industries Limited.
Pratip Chaudhuri is the former Chairman of State Bank of India (SBI) and has held several important posts in SBI during his long tenure of service including the post of Deputy Managing Director of SBI’s International Division. He has about 40 years of rich experience in the banking sector. He holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from University Business School, Chandigarh. He did his graduation from St. Stephen’s College, Delhi, with Hons. in chemistry.
In SBI, he has worked in all areas like Retail Banking, Corporate Banking, Treasury, etc. He was the Vice President in SBI (Canada) Toronto for close to five years. He was also the Chief Investment Officer at SBI Mutual Fund, Mumbai.
Immediately before becoming the Chairman of the SBI, he served as a Dy. Managing Director (International Banking). He was also ex-officio Chairman of SBI Global Factors Ltd., State Bank of Mysore, State Bank of Bikaner & Jaipur, State Bank of Travancore, State Bank of Patiala and State Bank of Hyderabad, SBI Cards & SBI Life. He was also a Director on the Board of Export-Import Bank of India (EXIM Bank).
Gurvinder has done his B.Tech.(Electronics) from Punjab Engineering College and MBA from Punjab University, Chandigarh
20+ years of experience working in leading Financial Institutions and Consultancies, Gurvinder was earlier ‘Director – Strategy and Transaction Advisory’ at Ernest & Young, India. At EY, his role included advising various Centre and State Government departments in infrastructure sector including, transport, energy, real estate, water, health and education. He is presently an independent consultant providing financial advisory services through his Company, Pri Advisors.
